World Bank Officials Visit Jinlo to Inspect CHPS Compound and SOCO Project Initiatives

The community of Jinlo witnessed a high-profile visit as two senior officials from the World Bank, Mr. Robin Mearns, Director for Global Practice, and Mr. Nicholas Perin, Practice Manager, arrived to inspect the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound on May 9th, 2025.

The visit formed part of a broader monitoring mission under the World Bank-supported Gulf of Guinea northern regions social cohesion (SOCO) project . The delegation was accompanied by the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the District Coordinating Director, who provided insights into local progress and community engagement.



During the inspection, the team assessed the functionality and impact of the CHPS Compound in delivering essential healthcare services to the people of Jinlo and surrounding communities. They also interacted with health workers, community leaders, and residents to understand the challenges and successes of the initiative.

Beyond the health facility, the World Bank officials reviewed several business groups and community-led initiatives supported by the SOCO project. These engagements showcased the transformative impact of the program in promoting sustainable livelihoods and empowering rural communities.

Mr. Mearns and Mr. Perin expressed satisfaction with the progress made and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between local authorities and development partners to ensure long-term success.
