Commissioning of Development Projects at Kpalbe

The North East Gonja District Assembly, led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdul Mumin Ewuntonmah, and the Member of Parliament for Salaga North Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni, commenced a four-day commissioning exercise on Friday, 10th July, 2026, at Kpalbe. The exercise was attended by Heads of Departments and Units of the District Assembly, officials from the District Health Directorate, the District Ghana Education Service (GES), traditional authorities, and community members.



The first project commissioned was a newly constructed 8-seater WC toilet facility with 2-unit showers aimed at improving sanitation and hygiene within the community. The delegation subsequently commissioned a 2-unit Kindergarten (KG) classroom block with office and store facilities to enhance teaching and learning at the early childhood level. The team also commissioned a 4-unit Nurses’ Quarters to provide decent accommodation for health personnel and improve healthcare service delivery.



As part of the event, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni, donated anti-snake venom to the District Ghana Education Service (GES) to support schools in responding effectively to snakebite incidents within their communities. He further donated motorbikes to the District Health Directorate to facilitate field monitoring, community outreach programs, and other health-related activities across the district.



Speaking at the event, both the DCE and the MP reiterated their commitment to improving the living conditions of residents through investments in education, health, and sanitation infrastructure. Community members expressed appreciation to the government and the Assembly for the successful completion and commissioning of the projects.
