On Saturday, 25th October 2025, the North East Gonja District Assembly organized a sod-cutting ceremony for a number of key developmental projects across various communities in the district. The ceremony was jointly led by Hon. Alhassan Mumuni, Member of Parliament for Salaga North Constituency, and Hon. Abdul Mumin Ewuntoma, District Chief Executive for North East Gonja.


The first project was held at Bunjai, where a 3-unit classroom block with a 4-seater KVIP and urinal was initiated. The team then proceeded to Kpalbe for the commencement of an 8-seater WC toilet and 2-unit shower project.

At Tantuani, the sod was cut for the furnishing of a CHPS compound with a 2-unit nurses’ accommodation, followed by the construction of a cattle market at Zuuyili.
The ceremony concluded at Fushila, where a 3-classroom block with a 4-seater KVIP and urinal was launched.

Community members and stakeholders expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts to enhance educational, health, and sanitation infrastructure in the North East Gonja District.
