On 22nd June, 2026, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the North East Gonja District Assembly, Hon. Abdul Mumin Ewuntomah, donated a total of 300 metallic dual desks, 200 mono desks, 50 KG hexagonal desks, and 50 sets of teachers’ chairs and tables to the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for onward distribution to schools within the district.
The donation forms part of efforts by the Assembly to improve teaching and learning conditions and address furniture deficits in basic schools across the district. The items are expected to enhance classroom comfort for pupils and provide a conducive working environment for teachers.
Presenting the items, the DCE emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education and ensuring that schools are adequately equipped to improve learning outcomes. He noted that investing in educational infrastructure remains a key priority of the Assembly’s development agenda.
The District Directorate of GES expressed appreciation for the gesture and assured that the furniture would be distributed equitably to benefit schools most in need.
The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to improving access to quality education and strengthening the learning environment in the North East Gonja District.
