The second Assembly of the North East Gonja District was inaugurated successful on 12th February, 2024 at the Community center in Kpalbe. The Assembly Members 16 in number. 12 elected and 4 appointed. The DCE (Hon. Mohammed Musah Tindawu) delivered a welcome address and admonished the Assembly Members to bring on board strategies to develop the District.
Assistant State Attorney ( Lawyer Isaac Arkoh) conducted the swearing-inn ceremony for the Assembly Members.
The Deputy Minister for Energy (Hon. Egyapa Andrew Kofi Mercer) was the President's representative who delivered the Presidential address.
Presiding Member's election was conducted by the District Electoral Officer.
1.Hon. Yahaya Mohammed Shani, the Assemblyman for Libi electoral area pulled 11 votes out of 16 representing 68.7%
2. Hon. Issahaku Muniru, the Member for Fuu electoral area pulled 5 votes representing 31.25%.
The ceremony was successful.
